The decision by leading Queensland legal firm Trilby Misso Lawyers to focus on continually raising client service standards has been acknowledged with a national award.

In the latest honour for Trilby Misso, the firm was awarded the Customer Service Institute of Australia Excellence Award in the small business category.

Trilby Misso CEO Graeme McFadyen said it was the fifth national award the firm had won in the past 12 months and one of the most satisfying honours.

Mr McFadyen said Trilby Misso had decided five years ago that it would make improving its client service standards a priority, particularly to its more vulnerable clients.

"We have strived to deliver outstanding client service and this award is a tribute to the hard working staff who have contributed to the achievement," he said.

"I have never worked for any company where there was such a tangible enthusiasm to do an excellent job every day."

Trilby Misso's trophy cabinet also includes the 2010 Australian Business Award for legal service excellence.

The latest honour was accepted at an awards event held at the Four Seasons Hotel in Sydney.

Trilby Misso in the past 12 months has also been named as one of the nation's best places to work after being listed among BRW's Top 50 Best Places to Work.

The Brisbane-headquartered firm won the 2009 Panasonic Queensland Medium Business award as part of the Telstra business excellence awards and also accreditation as a Hewitt Best Employer in Australia and New Zealand.
