Trilby Misso staff raise $8,000 in Everest Challenge

Staff from leading law firm Trilby Misso raised more than $8,000 taking part in the Royal Children's Hospital Foundation Everest Virtual Challenge.

Trilby Misso was a major sponsor of the Everest Virtual Challenge, a fund raising initiative which required teams of 15 people to each walk 10,000 steps a day for two weeks to cover the estimated two million steps required to reach the summit of the world's highest mountain.

The firm sponsored a trek to the Everest base camp in the Himalayas with anyone who raised more than $1,000 eligible for the prize, which was won by RAAF Amberley radiographer Karen Gladysz.
The winner received her prize from Trilby Misso CEO Graeme McFadyen and plans to head for the Himalayas in April next year.

"This is the first time I've ever won anything and I'm so excited to have the chance to get to see Mount Everest," said Ms Gladysz, who raised $1220 while her team 'Walking Wonders;" raised a total of $4122.

More than $200,000 was raised in Australia's largest virtual challenge with 1900 trekkers involved, including 60 Trilby Misso employees.

Mr McFadyen said the firm was delighted to have raised $8343 through the efforts of four teams of participating staff.

"This is a tremendous achievement by our staff who were thrilled to get behind the Everest Challenge," Mr McFadyen said.

"This is a fantastic concept for people to have fun, get fit and raise funds to help the Royal Children's Hospital Foundation to continue to work wonders for sick children.

"As the major sponsor, Trilby Misso Lawyers are proud to have played a significant role in the Everest Challenge being such a huge success."
