Trilby Misso expands to Toowoomba

14 February 2011

Leading Queensland law firm Trilby Misso is continuing its South East Queensland expansion by opening a new office in Toowoomba to service the Darling Downs region.

Trilby Misso CEO Graeme McFadyen said the Toowoomba office would be the first Trilby Misso centre outside the Brisbane CBD to have a resident solicitor.

He said highly respected Toowoomba solicitor and specialist Bill Munro had joined the firm as special counsel and would practise from Trilby Misso's new office at 123 Margaret Street, Toowoomba.

"Bill has been practising in Toowoomba for 13 years and he is extremely well regarded by the local community and his legal peers," Mr McFadyen said. "At Trilby Misso we pride ourselves on the outstanding client service we deliver and I am delighted that Bill and his staff are similarly client-focused.

"Trilby Misso has been looking to expand into Toowoomba for some time and now we have the right people to make this move a very successful one. The recent flood put our plans back a bit but now we are ready to roll."

Trilby Misso over the last 18 months has expanded from its Brisbane CBD head office and opened client service centres at North Lakes and Morayfield on Brisbane's northern outskirts, as well as at Ipswich, Logan and at Robina on the Gold Coast.
Mr McFadyen said the firm founded by lawyer and businessman Trilby Misso at Redcliffe in 1956 is continuing with major expansion plans after being acquired last year by listed law company Slater & Gordon.

"Slater & Gordon bought Trilby Misso because they admired the work and reputation that Trilby Misso has developed in Queensland," he said.

Despite being a wholly-owned subsidiary we still regard ourselves as a Queensland firm and we will continue to provide excellent service to fellow Queenslanders.

Trilby Misso wants to become more accessible to local residents in some of the most rapidly growing areas of the state.

Our expansion program to date has been very well received by both existing and new clients. We plan to open another six or seven centres over the next couple of years."

The new Trilby Misso office will be officially opened by Toowoomba Mayor Peter Taylor on Tuesday, February 22, 2011.
